TO PLANT A GARDEN

IS TO BELIEVE IN TOMORROW

- AUDREY HEPBURN

FARM + FOOD EDUCATION

We believe that everyone should understand how food is produced and where it comes from. It is our goal to help people become more connected with the food on their plates through engaging, hands-on educational opportunities.

We are excited to announce our first of many workshops in our 'Growing Your Backyard Garden' series! These workshops are designed to offer hands-on learning opportunities to help backyard gardeners build and grow abundant gardens. We are excited to learn more about your garden and to help you grow!

*Covid protocols in place for every workshop. Limited spots available per session. Summer + Fall in-person workshops take place outside, so please be prepared to dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear. (Spring workshop location TBD, but may also be outside!)*

GARDEN CONSULTATION

Need help with your garden?

Have questions about backyard food production or planning, building your soil or harvesting, storing or preserving?

We now offer 1:1 consultation via phone, zoom or in-person.

We are really excited to officially kick off our consultation program in 2021. Although our consultation time will be limited, we are committed to dedicating a bit of our time to helping our fellow food enthusiasts grow their own food. After all, the more people who grow food - the better!

How it works (it's simple!):

You email us to book your phone, zoom or in-person consultation and you will hear from us within 3-5 business days. We will send you a super quick questionnaire that will help us better understand what your are after through our session(s) together. We will then set a time for us to meet!

Two to three weeks after your consultation, you will hear from us when we check-in to see how our consultation worked for you and whether you have any follow-up questions. We want to provide tangible, real help...so this (free!) follow-up is important!

Suggested topics of interest

(here are some ideas of things we can help with, but you might have your own idea too!):

   - how to build your garden/beds, how to garden in backyards that aren't flat, understanding your soil and what it needs, building infrastructure to cover your garden beds;

   - seed starting, planting schedules, climate specific crops, garden zone / frost dates, etc;

   - garden maintenance, weeds, watering / irrigation, pest + rodent control, fertilizing + soil amendments, succession + companion planting;

 - harvesting, post-harvest care + storage, food preservation, putting your garden to bed for winter, winter crops, cover crops;

Rates:

* Introduction - free. This is where you fill out our quick questionnaire and explain your request and you receive our initial thoughts and recommendation for working together.

30 minute Phone / Zoom ~ $75

60 minute Phone / Zoom ~ $125

60 minute In-Person (at your garden) ~ $140-$200 (+ travel costs, if applicable)

*Looking for a longer session? This can be discussed and arranged when you email us to book.
